This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept erasure filings for anyone. Those services must come from the proper government office.
Need an Official Record?
Connecticut has no operating county sheriff or county jail layer. Official Waterbury requests instead divide among city police, the Superior Court clerk, DESPP, and the Department of Correction:
- Court case files: use criminal court case records or contact the Waterbury Superior Court clerk
- Criminal histories: contact the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, State Police Bureau of Identification at 860-685-8480
- Arrest and incident reports: contact Waterbury Police Records Division at 203-574-6933
- Official background checks: order through the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP), Division of State Police, State Police Bureau of Identification (SPBI)
- Custody records: use Connecticut DOC Inmate Information Search or call DOC offender information at 860-692-7780
- Erasure and sealing: ask the clerk at the court that handled the case or use Connecticut's Clean Slate resources
For police-created records, contact Waterbury Police Records Division, 255 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06702, 203-574-6933. General public hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except holidays, and the city also accepts requests through its GovQA portal. Criminal case files and certified dispositions come from the clerk at Superior Court, Judicial District and G.A. 4, 400 Grand Street, Waterbury, CT 06702, 203-236-8100.
