Privacy Policy

This page lays out what data we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and when it might be shared with others. Using any page on this website means you accept the practices described here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

Names or locations entered in a search tool are sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and delivers its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

We retain an email or contact submission long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, our servers automatically receive limited technical and usage details:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files saved on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, including popular pages and points where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site identifies official routes through Waterbury Police, Connecticut Superior Court, the DESPP State Police Bureau of Identification, the Connecticut Department of Correction, and the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry. Connecticut has no operating county sheriff or county jail system. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is never assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.

Third-Party Search Partners

Search boxes on this site are powered by outside companies. Anything you enter into those tools is processed under the partner's own privacy policy, not this one. Those partners set their own data-retention and sharing practices, and we do not control them. Review the partner's policy before submitting a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Waterbury Police, Connecticut court portals, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review that policy before providing personal details.

Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

We use reasonable, standard safeguards for collected data. No internet system is completely secure, so these measures cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

This service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A verified request concerning a minor's submitted data will be addressed by deleting that information.

Your Data Rights

Depending on residency and applicable exceptions, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, Conn. Gen. Stat. §§ 42-515 through 42-526, may provide rights concerning personal data. At a minimum, you may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. An updated version will appear here with a new effective date, so periodic review is appropriate.

Effective date: July 17, 2026
