Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of the website. Visiting a page, reading its content, or running a search constitutes acceptance. Anyone who does not agree must discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. This website is privately owned and run. It has no affiliation with any local, state, or federal government body. Neither this site nor any of our advertising partners offer services meant for credit checks, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant evaluation, or any other use covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). We exist to help visitors find criminal-record resources in Waterbury and Connecticut. We are not a private investigation firm, and we are not a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government affiliation. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or files documents for a visitor.

Its role is to identify the Waterbury Police Records Division, Connecticut Superior Court, DESPP State Police Bureau of Identification, Connecticut DOC, and Connecticut Sex Offender Registry as the appropriate custodians, while also providing links to outside research tools. Connecticut has no operating county sheriff or county jail layer.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information from this site or a linked tool to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against another person. Such conduct may violate the law. This restriction is especially important for Connecticut Sex Offender Registry data, which exists for public-safety notification rather than vigilantism or retaliation.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

If you need a background check for any of those purposes, order an official check through the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP), Division of State Police, State Police Bureau of Identification (SPBI) or an FCRA-compliant screening company.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing here is legal advice. General information about Waterbury records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, erasure, or sealing rule applies to a particular matter. Consult a licensed Connecticut attorney for that advice.

6. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Criminal records change as charges are filed or dismissed and files are corrected, sealed, or erased. Gaps and delays are unavoidable. No content here is an official statement from Waterbury Police, a Connecticut court, or a state agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to Waterbury Police, court portals, Connecticut agencies, legal-aid groups, and outside search services. We do not control those destinations and accept no responsibility for their content, data practices, prices, or availability. Review each destination's terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

All text, graphics, logos, and code on this site belong to Waterbury Criminal History or our content partners. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or build on our content without getting written permission first.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the site, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless from any claim, legal action, or demand that stems from how you used this site or from breaking these terms. That includes covering our legal fees and related costs.

11. Governing Law

Connecticut law governs these terms. Any dispute related to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Connecticut. Government record access remains governed separately by the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, Conn. Gen. Stat. §§ 1-200 through 1-242. Criminal-record restrictions include the erasure provisions of § 54-142a and registry dissemination rules in § 54-258.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when posted here. Effective date: July 17, 2026.

13. Cutting Off Access

We can limit or block your access to this site at any time, for any reason, with no warning.

14. Severability

If a court rules that any part of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest stand. The problem section gets adjusted only as much as needed to make it work.
